The only month gold has been down in every market condition is March. Combined with the fact that gold soared 10.2% the first two months of this year, the odds favor a pullback this month. Gold Stock Seasonality Some things tend to repeat themselves. Summers are almost always more warm than winters. The rainfall usually peaks during specific months of the year. When researching seasonality, I came across this chart from equityclock.com that shows the seasonality of the XAU Gold Stock Index. The Philly Gold & Silver Index (XAU) is weighted towards the Gold Futures Continuous Contract Seasonality Analysis has revealed that with a buy date of September 13 and a sell date of May 23, investors have benefited from a total return of 183.61% over the last 10 years.
